Jeff Montagna - Managing Principal
Jeff has nearly 20 years of experience in finance and investing, with most of that time dedicated to private equity investing in software and tech-enabled services businesses. Jeff has completed thirty M&A transactions throughout his career, and has a strong track record of accelerating growth and achieving exceptional exit outcomes.
Prior to Cornice, Jeff was Managing Director at Iron Creek Partners, where he still serves as Senior Advisor and remains on the board of its portfolio companies. Jeff also worked in technology investment banking at Navidar and managed a business incubator in Shanghai, China.
Jeff received his MBA from IE Business School, with emphases in finance and economics. He also holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
Thomas Schmitt - Managing Director
Thomas has over 10 years of experience in finance and mergers & acquisitions, with most of that time dedicated to M&A advisory and financial due diligence in Luxembourg and New York.
Prior to Cornice, Thomas was a Director in the M&A - Deals Advisory practice at PwC in New York. During his career, he advised on multiple buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity firms and corporate clients, with a strong focus on financial services and fintech.
Thomas received his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with a major in Finance. He also holds an MSc in Management and a BSc in Business Administration from Grenoble Ecole de Management in France.
Fearghal Mulvihill - Managing Director
Fearghal has over 15 years of deals experience which began when working on the Deals team for PwC in Dublin. He later worked on the Structured Credit Risk team in Deutsche Bank in New York and London where he was primarily focused on RMBS and CMBS.
He is a CFA, ACA and received his MBA from Wharton Business School, with a major in Management. He also holds a BA in Management Science from Trinity College Dublin.
Matteo Iannucci - Managing Director
Matteo joined Cornice after ten years in the sports and gaming industry during which he played an integral role in the $600M acquisition of FanDuel by Paddy Power Betfair in 2018.
Prior to Cornice and FanDuel, Matteo was a consultant with McKinsey and holds a Masters in Statistics and Economics from the University of Rome.
